Walk Through Metal detectors
They detect metallic objects on people passing through the detector. They are available with different numbers of detection zones, i.e. 1, 2, 6, 12, 18 and 33 zones, the greater number of detection’s zones the more accurate the location of metallic object on the person can be determined, saving operator time.
In an airport application with a high throughput of passengers, it is extremely important that the detector can process passengers quickly whilst providing an accurate location of metallic items on a person. 18 or 33 zone detectors are normally deployed in this type of application and other locations where high throughput of people is required.
The level of detection sensitivity can be adjusted to meet varying threats.
Westminster recommends that a WG Walk Through Metal Detector Test Kit be purchased to regularly check that the detector is functioning correctly.
Our range of X-Ray Scanners / screeners are divided into the following categories: Mail Room, Hand Baggage, Hold Baggage and Cargo and Pallet Scanners, the main differentiators when selecting your X-Ray Scanner / screener is: Tunnel Size, Single or Dual View and X-Ray Penetration.
EU, TSA and IATA legislation requires that all Air Cargo and mail X-Ray Screening is carried out at two different 90 degree angles. X-Ray Dual View (DV) screening systems view objects from two angles – a “down shooting” view from above the object and a “side shooting” view from the side, this provides the operator with the ability to view odd-shaped objects (i.e. triangular or L-shaped), and to identify potential threats more quickly and easily than by using a single- view system. There is also an increasing requirement at International Airports for all baggage to be Dual View Screened.
